Lexar ES5 1TB Magnetic Portable SSD is a high-speed external solid-state drive designed for portable storage, mobile content creation, and fast data transfer using a USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 interface.
It delivers sequential read and write speeds of up to 2000MB/s when connected to compatible host devices. The 1TB capacity supports professional photo backups, high-resolution video recording, and fast file transfers for mobile and desktop workflows.
The ES5 features a MagSafe-compatible magnetic design for quick attachment to supported iPhones and includes an additional metal ring to enable magnetic mounting on other devices. The slim liquid-silicone exterior provides grip and portability, and the integrated cable organizer doubles as a lanyard.
The drive supports direct external recording for Apple ProRes video and compatible Samsung Pro Video modes on supported devices, allowing creators to record directly to the SSD at manufacturer-specified resolutions and frame rates.
Built for durability, the ES5 is rated IP65 for dust and water resistance and is specified to be drop-resistant up to 3 meters under controlled test conditions. A thermal control design helps maintain stable operating temperatures during sustained high-speed transfers.
For data protection, the drive includes Lexar DataShield™ software supporting 256-bit AES encryption. Free access to the Lexar App is included for photo backup and file management on supported mobile devices.
